She was born in Roswell on the 29th of March 1985. Gerina Michelle Mendoza was her name. Gerina Stevenson was born to Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson and Alan Stevenson. The mother of two is a Mexican by blood but has American nation by birth. At a very young age her drive to become involved in sports was evident. Gerina played golf for the first time at age 15. Gerina attended Goddard High School. In high school, she took home the New Mexico golf state tournament. Also, she played volleyball at the national level. She was a student at an institution called the University of Texas in 2003. Her senior year was a success. she won each tournament in which she participated. While in her undergrad years, she was awarded the Conference USA's player of the season and UTEP's Female Athletic of Year.
